2-27-15 Meetings

2-26-15

Sent communication text to Mandy and Clarisa inquiring about meet up.

Received response from Mandy agreeing to meet up at McKnight atrium 2-27-15.

Met with Mandy at 2:00 pm 2-27 and discussed design for flyer.

Discussed idea for it to be like a "gang" in a loose way.  Discussed giving figurine names that are references to something political or humorous.  As well discussed possibility of organizing figures by "color wheel" and linking them in that fashion.

Mandy and I both texted Clarisa to gain update on figures.  Received messages that she was picking up said supplies Saturday and would send us pictures after that.

Due to weather complications. Made the decision that project was better suited in a more conceptual aspect than literally implemented as figures are made with a substance that is not winter proof.

Unable to copy messages due to some technical issues.

Met with Mandy 3/3/15 to share photos and discuss power point organization..

Sent text to Clarisa inquiring about poster design and completed image.  Received text back saying it would be done later in the evening.

2-18-15

I decided to do an approach with humor without using the entire body.  The smilies were a kind of last minute idea, but I have always enjoyed playing with smilies.  So I decided to recycle that idea. A lot of things I did were a bit impromptu, but I feel effective in their own way. :)  It's ok to laugh.  It's meant to be funny. \o/

2-9-15 pics

Pics from around town.  Most at Dillons. The last two on WSU campus.  While the geese may not be pop culture, they are, in a way, part of our local culture.  The first picture of the girl was pulled from online due to that I could not find anyone with a 'crazy' hair style to go with and I really wanted to present that aspect.

I found each of these artists interesting in their own way.  A couple I chose because I am a big fan of anything fantasy.  And the rest, I chose because I found their work interesting and thought provoking to the message they were trying show.

Journal entry 2-1-15 interesting things

So, what I found was this website

http://paletton.com/#uid=62S0z0k7Lc11T554u8gbCgcfNkr

It is a website giving different options for color palettes possibly for a room, painting, graphical image, whatever you choose to use it for.  I found this interesting as there is a randomizing option for anyone that maybe get stuck in a rut for colors, you can click different randomizers and maybe something will be out of that box and can help spur you in a new direction. :)

Journal entry 1 1-27-15

Greetings and salutations,

For my five pictures I chose the ones below.  Each one has a dynamic level of colors and a level of thought that makes me want to talk to the person that did these and ask what inspired them, what tools they used.  The first one is very interesting to me in that I am really struggling to figure out what the overlaid image is.  I think it's leaves, but it is quiet hard to tell. :)  And nearly as such with the second image.  The third image is a simple collage idea, not a lot of conflict, but very well rendered in my opinion.  They used abstract forms and something that resembles flowers, then colored the areas they wanted to bring about that perception of the woman's face.  The fourth one was simply what I am calling a digital mosaic.  I would totally expect to see this in a cathedral window.  The artist also used a lot of texture in depicting the different tiles of of the man and the dragon, and then a more fluid idea for the blue.  While the fifth picture reminds me of something someone might have done after a drug induced inspiration, I feel as though there is a story to be told about the fellow in the center.  The overlaid use of colors helps add that psychedelic feel to the over all piece.

I found tons more that I would have liked to add, but these were the ones that stood out the most. :)

Have a great and awesome and wonderful day!
